Undoubtedly the highlight of the recent 2018 AGM is the chance for the station to recognise those volunteers who make a difference in the long-term.
20 Years Service
20 Years service to a community radio station is no easy feat. As a volunteer it takes tremendous passion and a desire to give. We ask a lot of our volunteers here at Eastside Radio and broadcasting on air is a challenging and time consuming exercise. Add into account the technological developments the station has undergone the past decade and there are very few presenters still contributing from the 2000’s let alone the 90’s.
Our recognition for tonight goes to a presenter who started way back in 1998.
Their program is heard ever Saturday at 10am without fail or as best as any show on Eastside Radio can manage!
Over the years Lush Life has built a very loyal and supportive audience and this is reflected every June when we do our Radiothon and their program receives many much needed calls.
This presenter is a strong supporter of Australian jazz too, ensuring this genre not only continues to have a welcome home at Eastside Radio but gives voice to the hundreds of Australian jazz musician who would not be heard on radio were it not for our station and their program.
We thank you for your time on air, and as a volunteer at our many events with your incredible guitar playing.
