The Centenarian Portrait Project

The inspiring Centenarian Portrait Project paired 100 centenarians in Sydney with 100 local teenage artists to draw their portrait. Creative Director, Rose Connors Dance and artist Elena-Rose joined Nick Terry on Thursday Drive.

Rose Connors Dance describes how a deeply moving experience with an 85-year-old woman in Berlin inspired the project. Artist Elena-Rose parts some of the wonderful wisdom that her centenarian subject George gave her. Listen to an excerpt of the interview below.

The exhibit 100 A Celebration of Sydney’s Oldest Residents runs 29 September to 12 October at 2/85 Dunning Ave, Rosebery NSW 2018, Australia. Find out more here.
