Darren Goodsir, Chief Communication Officer at the University of New South Wales joined FTD to discuss the impact of the Coronavirus pandemic on the University.

Staff at UNSW have been asked to take voluntary pay cuts to avoid job losses. Vice Chancellor Ian Jacobs and other senior management staff have all taken a 20% pay cut.

All Australian Universities are facing huge financial devastation as a consequence of COVID-19. Travel bans and social distancing measures mean UNSW is now missing $600 million from their budget.

Australian universities are also concerned about the welfare of international students studying at their universities who are unable to access government assistance. UNSW has extended its hardship fund in an effort to assist those in need.
