Presented by Ruth Hessey
Monday Drive is fuelled by lively conversations with local artists and scientists, film and book reviews, breaking news with a green tinge and a diverse range of guests from grass roots groups such as Transition Bondi and Milkwood, to experts on coal seam gas, metropolitan water management, biodiversity and sustainable living.
Your host Ruth Hessey spent 20 years living in the eastern suburbs and working as a journalist in print, radio and TV with SMH, the ABC and assorted media outlets before transitioning to the environment movement where she started to make films. Her second documentary, Waste Not, has been translated into 4 languages (Mandarin, Indonesian, Turkish and Spanish) and screened in 30 countries and 25 international Film festivals. It also won Best Doco at St Kilda Film Festival.
Between presenting Drive and Green Velvet on Eastside, working as Communications Director for the Total Environment Centre and developing her next two feature documentary films Ruth likes to relax writing travel stories and fiction, swimming in the ocean and cycling along the coast and through Sydney’s beautiful parks.
