Presented by Sally Zwartz and Soumia Bella
Catch it by the tail is an hour of songs, stories and poems for young and old but in particular children aged 4 and up. It’s the only program on Eastside broadcast specifically for kids.
Catch it by the tail features classic and contemporary content and includes some things kids probably haven’t heard before. It also features content produced especially for the program: Australian authors reading their work, stories and poems read by actors and as much audio made with kids themselves as we can manage.
It doesn’t underestimate its audience and it isn’t selling anything, to kids or their parents. It’s screen-free! It’s perfect Sunday afternoon stuck-in-traffic or lazy-afternoon-at-home or general quiet time (and sometimes loud time) entertainment.
To find out what’s coming up on the program, keep in touch on facebook: https://www.facebook.com/catchitbythetaileastside/
If you know a kid who’d like to send in a joke, story, song, request, message or anything else, go for it! Email firstname.lastname@example.org or leave a message on the Catch it by the tail facebook page.
Sally Zwartz is a writer, interviewer and audio content-maker with an MA in children’s literature. She’s passionate about reading, writing and music and has a long history of involvement in projects that encourage kids to develop that passion too. She believes every kid should have access to great stories, poems and music because they help them to be happy.
