Co-hosted by industry insiders Erez Gordon & Gillian Hyde and featuring Co-Host and Producer Siobhán “Chevy” Moran – Under the Table is a fun and vivacious show that explores some of Australia’s best eating and drinking opportunities.

Each week, the Under the Table team is joined by the people at the very heart of our great industry. Think: growers, producers, winemakers, bakers; butchers, chefs, sommeliers, foragers; cheesemakers, chocolatiers, food writers and distillers. Best of all, it’s not all talk: live on-air tastings are a feature of Under the Table which means that anything can happen – and it frequently does.

Informative and often hilarious (well you try doing conducting a sensible interview after tasting 3 different gins), Under the Table is unique to the airwaves. It explores the love, sweat, talent and passion that go into creating exceptional dining and drinking experiences.

Erez and Gillian take turns hosting whilst Chevy is always on hand to both poke the bear and keep the show running!

About Erez

Erez Gordon brings 30 years of food and wine knowledge to the microphone. Starting in the pub game in the late 80’s and working in a variety of venues from the down and dirty to the most salubrious, Erez has receivErez wide angleed numerous awards, is a media commentator for the restaurant industry, a restaurant business consultant, has appeared on commercial television restaurant shows and is in demand as a public speaker and event host. He is also currently plying his trade at his restaurant Bishop Sessa in Surry Hills where you can find him some nights mixing drinks and telling stories from behind the bar.

Under The Table gives Erez a weekly opportunity to shake it with the latest and greatest in the food and wine scene both here in Sydney and across Australia while sharing their stories and talents with our listeners.

About Gillian

As a teenager in Brisbane in the 1970s, it was hard to imagine that anyone would listen to a radio show about food and wine. After all, there’s only so much you can say about Pizza Hut and Mateus Rosé.

In any case, fine dining wasn’t on Gillian’s radar. She was hopelessly besotted with the theatre, and although was an improbable career for a freckly girl with glasses, Gillian spent the first 25 years of her adult life as a professional actor. During that time, she toured nationally and internationally, working with all the major theatre companies. She wrote, directed anGilliand performed for the (now legendary) Tilbury Hotel cabarets, and appeared in the popular television shows of the day (Cop Shop, A Country Practice, All Saints) – plus countless TV commercials.

In the late 1990s, Gillian traded showbiz for shiraz, turning her (professional) attention to wine. For the ensuing 16 years she worked in management roles for Cellarmaster Wines (pre Woolworths!) and iconic wine cooperative, The Wine Society.

In mid-2015, Gillian launched Hydewriter – a bold venture that creates engaging, persuasive, intelligent and amusing content to help businesses improve their searchability and brand credibility.

Gillian was first introduced to Eastside listeners as a regular guest on Natascha Moy’s Food in Focus show, and is chuffed to be part of the Under the Table team.

About Chevy

Hailing from the UK, but with Australian and Irish parents, and having lived in several other countries, Chevy has always been a bit of a mixed bag! A lover of all things dramatic (arts, that is), Chevy studied acting in both LChevy Headshotondon and Sydney alongside a Master of International Affairs: Peace and Conflict Studies. This unusual combo led to a career in both the Federal and State governments until she needed a sea change and went to work for a not-for-profit organisation.

In her spare time, Chevy continued with her performance studies completing an Advanced Diploma in Radio at the Australian Film, Television and Radio School (AFTRS) in Sydney. This led to the fulfillment of her lifelong passion to connect directly with an audience when the opportunity to feature on her favourite Eastside Radio show came along. That’s the other thing you need to know about Chevy – she is a self-confessed modern-day gourmand who loves nothing more than to eat and drink new and wonderful things!

Chevy’s joint passion for food, wine and performance all come together in harmony on Under the Table as she tames the panel and wrangles any unruly guests – or hosts for that matter!
