Because Sounds Of Soul is a vinyl only show airing mainly Afro American music from the 6ts and 7ts we are normally spinning predominately those 7&#8243; 45s that were the main medium of the black music especially in the 6ts. That changed a bit in the 7ts when Soul and Funk caught up with the trend to the long-player that Rock had set a decade earlier and LPs became more important, often as album-length statements with hard-hitting social commentary. Last Fridays program was dedicated to 12&#8243; records mainly 7ts stuff, interesting album versions of records played here on 45s before and LP only material. </p>
