At 11:00 am my special guest in the studio will be Inger Shiel from the Australian National Maritime Museum. Inger is a self-confessed Titanic nut and was one of the team responsible for the Titanic Remembered: 100 Years currently showing at ANMM. Inger also just returned from a memorial voyage commemorating the sinking of the Titanic. I do look forward to our conversation!

Music will mostly come from the soundtrack of the 1997 movie (currently re-released in 3D to mark the 100th anniversary of the sinking) or music known to have been played on board.

At 11 am I will be playing you an interview with New York choreographer Miguel Gutierrez who is in Sydney on a collaborative project with award-winning Sydney dance trio the Fondue Set. Miguel is a controversial artist whose inspiration often comes from political events, including one famous work, drawn from America’s involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan. As you can imagine, I am looking forward to our conversation.

You may have guessed it, but music this week comes from the world of dance.

My special guest at 11:00 am is Dr Ginni Mansberg, making a welcome return to Arts Wednesday. Ginni has just published a new book entitled How to Get Your Mojo Back: Every Woman’s Guide to Health and Happiness and Ginni discusses, in her down-to-earth way, methods we can all use to reduce stress in our lives and make a more positive go of it. Ginni is a a medical practitioner, author and advisor, best known perhaps as the Channel 7 doctor on Sunrise and the Morning Show.

Music this week will centre on feeling good!

At 11:00 am I am looking forward to meeting and talking to Colleen Morris, garden and landscape guru, about the changing fashions in gardens, from the earliest days of European settlement through to today. Colleen is, amongst other publications, the author of Lost Gardens of Sydney, a book to accompany an exhibition of the same name, held at the Museum of Sydney in 2008.

I think you can already guess the music – flora!

My special guest at 11:00 am is Dr Keir Winesmith, Digital Media Manager for the Museum of Contemporary Art, due to re-open to the public on 29th March. Hear Keir demystify this sometimes mystifying world and how it is harnessed in the service of an art museum.

Given the subject matter, it seems a no-brainer to play electronic music!

At 11:00 am my special guest in the studio will be Bronwyn Rennex, Deputy Director of Stills Gallery and we will be talking about the really splendid current exhibition of Magnum Contact Sheets, some of them originals and some original prints. It was a delight to look (with thoughtfully provided magnifying glass) at the likes of Audrey Hepburn at the barre in 1948, Eve Arnold’s Marilyn Monroe, Marlene Dietrich as well as 25-year-old Elizabeth Taylor, pictured here, on the set of Suddenly Last Summer. And, as always, it is a pleasure to welcome Bronwyn back to Arts Wednesday.

Since the Magnum exhibition largely features icons, that seemed like a great idea for music as well!
