Eastside Radio in association with Art & About 2009 Festival comes to Paddington Reservoir with a Free Jazz Festival!

The inaugural East Village Jazz Festival is to be held at Paddington Reservoir – at the recently restored site of Walter Read and John Thompson Reserve – on Saturday 17 October.

Winner of the 2009 Australian Award for Urban Design, the Paddington Reservoir (originally built between 1866 and 1878)  is now open to the public as a stunning Romanesque sunken garden with a lake of contemplation at its centre and a hanging garden canopy around the perimeter.

“We are proud to be working in association with the Art and About 2009 festival to bring this new and hopefully annual event to our constituents” said Eastside presenter and Chairman Phillip James.

This is an exciting opportunity to bring together some of our local jazz players in a brand new setting in the heart of vibrant Oxford St.

We hope to include local organisations in the day’s proceedings including a stunning visual exhibition from the Australian Centre of Photography with an overview by spokesperson Shane Rozario.

The festival will have the live stage on the upper lawn at road level, and a DJ performing below ground within the old reservoir.

A line up of headline artists
