2017 SYDNEY FAMILY SHOW RETURNS
THE DODO SYDNEY FAMILY SHOW RETURNS AS A FAMILY FAVOURITE IN 2017
A preferred choice of entertainment for local families, the Dodo Sydney Family Show is returning in 2017 to the Entertainment Quarter Showring, Moore Park, across the Easter break, jam-packed full of excitement from 8-23 April.
300,000 visitors are expected to walk through the gates in 2017, with Show organisers once again creating an affordable and fun day out for the entire family, with plenty of free attractions and exciting activities on offer throughout the Show’s program. “We are conscious that the school holidays can often be an expensive time of the year for many families. With a great variety of free activities available throughout each day, the Sydney Family Show provides a way for families to enjoy an outing together, without the expense,” Britt Osborne, Director of the Sydney Family Show said. “Our Show provides incredible value for money, with free entry for the whole family. And for only one low price of $35 per person, kids and adults can enjoy unlimited rides for four full hours – or $110 for a family of four.
“The kids can try out every ride at the Show – or revisit the same ride multiple times with the four-hour ride pass, you have the flexibility of spending the day how you wish without having to pay for each ride or attraction separately! “Being a smaller-sized Show means our visitors also spend less time lining-up throughout the day, and it’s much easier to walk between attractions without the large crowds and hustle and bustle, providing a truly enjoyable family day out.”
Free attractions include the Kung Fu Panda live show, the exciting Lumberjack Show with amazing wood chopping and leg rolling skills, the Eljay Freestyle motorcycle stunt show and a special Bunny Hopping Championship on Easter Friday. Joining the 2017 Show attractions will be the amazing Toy Brick Fair LEGO Show – a 10-metre Mega City display, plus building tables and more for all LEGO lovers to enjoy at a cost of just $5. Circus Avalon will also be returning to the Show, presenting exciting 20 minute performances every hour on the hour. Some of Australia’s best performers will make the big top come alive. With trapeze, silks, jugglers, contortionists, acrobats, and you can meet some of them after each show – providing great entertainment for the entire family.
For the little ones who would like to get up close and personal to some furry creatures, the much-loved Animal Nursery will be back this year. Baby farmyard animals, including piglets, ducks, chicks, fawn, puppies, kittens, goats, calves and lambs will all be there to cosy up to the children for $5 per person.
And of course, what’s a Show without the rides? Joining all of the attractions will be the exciting rides Hurricane, Dodgem Cars, Giant Yo Yo, Disco Show, Cup and Saucer, Marine World, Jungle Gym, Giant Slide, Swing Chairs and many more. To celebrate the Easter holidays, SydneyCare, a non-profit organisation, will be running an Easter Egg Hunt to raise funds to help provide disaster relief response. Participate in the epic hunt and assist a worthy cause with just a $5 donation.
To keep hunger at bay in amongst all of the action, an international food menu will also be on offer. Stop to grab a bite to eat from one of the many food stalls at the Show. Visitors should also take the time to check out the usual carnival favourites at the markets stalls, and browse the large range of great-value Showbags that will be available. Parking is free for the first two hours at the Entertainment Quarter carpark and the Show is also easily accessible by public transport.
