It’s back! The City of Sydney’s Matching Grants Program is designed to give you the opportunity to double the budget for your ambitious idea to improve your local area and make a difference, and now it is available all year round!
Have you been sitting on a great idea to make your suburb a better place to live, work and play? Maybe you’d like to organise a neighbourhood barbeque, a local bike fixing workshop, or a community garden? Take the opportunity to apply for the Local Action Plans Matching Grants Program and see your innovative and creative idea become a reality!
Previous projects have included Homework Helpers groups, creative writing groups for seniors, a Latin Film Festival, cooking clubs for kids, neighbourhood clean up days, and a shared gardening tools repository. Through the program, the City of Sydney will help out community groups’ projects in purchasing equipment and labour by matching raised funds of up to $10,000.
As well as offering in-kind support such as the use of Council-owned venues for your project, the City of Sydney also matches volunteer time at $20 and hour or $75 for professional hours, so your contribution towards improving your neighbourhood will be rewarded too!
