A Taste Of Honey June 14th 2012

How very cool is the Alberta Hunter story(pic. right)-toured Europe in 1917 aged 22,recorded the blues and then from the 1950′s -through to mid 1970′s she trained and worked as a nurse and then at age 83 recorded ‘Amtrak Blues’-thats what I love about this business and then the  music from the partnership of two of the greatest guitarists ever-both improvisers and instrument inventors and performers -Chet Atkins and Les Paul(pic.left)from the album ‘Chester and Lester’-irreplaceable performances-jump to Melody Gardot ensconsed in Portuguese-accented music with bossa nova and samba styled songs that take this artiste to another level on her new album-’Tastes of Honey’ for all on EastsideFM…..

About the Author: Love my music..anything with a great melody, arranged with either a BIG orchestra or a quality acoustic guitar......I enjoy passionate performances.. by the artiste(s) -that is always the main criteria for my choice of the tracks that make up the programme.....versions of great old songs and new songs that enable a response,a smile,a memory of a time and a place,to groove a little... ...many years of executive management in the entertainment business in NZ,Australia,Asia Pacific and New York enabled me to immerse myself in music and people....my two indulgences and I hope the music each week brings you some of the same responses.
